Powerful gusts emanate off of Skogafoss throwing tall blankets of cold mist into the air. The silhouette of my form in this photo captures the movement of the strength of the wind as it moves through my dress and seemingly sways my body. I also wanted to include a softness and dance-like quality to contrast against the rigid forms of rock. Though the mist looks far away I left this scene looking like I had just been caught up in a torrential downpour. It only took moments for my hair and dress to be thoroughly soaked. Moreover, getting this shot meant wading through knee-high freezing water hoping I wouldn’t slip and drop my camera day one of my trip. I think the final image looks rather peaceful despite what it took to get it.
