Seljalandsfoss, Iceland, 2025

It is a beautiful opportunity to see waterfalls up close. It is also often times a very wet one and Seljalandsfoss, in particular, has its own weather bubble. The closer you approach the more the wind picks up and the spray from the plummeting water drenches you in its own miniature rainscape. The force of the water hitting the pool below creates strong pushes of wind and wet against your face. You will come out of this experience damp, but also refreshed. I prefer this photo in black and white to draw focus to the form of the falling water, the mist, the droplets, the larger drapes of movement that come crashing down into the dark pool beneath.
